The building constructed by Byzantine emperors Tiberius II and Maurikios (578-602) in Samandra is one of the most significant architectural monuments of this period located outside Istanbul. A detailed report was prepared in terms of detection of damage incurred to the remnants of the palace that are located under the ground; shoring system was arranged for vaults and arches, and the structural details to be watched out during excavation works were identified.
