The mosque, one of Bugoyno's greatest Ottoman landmarks and the only monument built in the name of the Sultan, suffered serious structural damages during the Bosnian war. Prompt repairs and modifications were performed after the war. In 2019, strengthening design was developed by OTS within the scope of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) restoration.
